The Paris Haute Couture SS26 season was simply moving. Just a few days after the passing of Valentino Garavani, the Maison he founded presented a collection full of historical references, accompanied by a long letter of acknowledgment from the new creative director, Alessandro Michele. We were also left speechless by Jonathan Anderson’s first Haute Couture show, who created a fresh and sublime collection for Dior, and by Matthieu Blazy, who rewrote Chanel’s codes like only he can. Some critics have noted that the difference between Couture and Ready-to-Wear is now minimal. Judging by what we saw, maybe that’s a good thing.
