ESSENTIALS is the weekly newsletter from nss magazine, arriving in your inbox every Saturday morning.
It has been a week of major announcements: following the news that Anthony Vaccarello would be stepping down as creative director of Saint Laurent, the departures of SeĆ”n McGirr from McQueen and Veronica Leoni from Calvin Klein Collection were also confirmed. On October 13, LVMH released its financial results for the third quarter of 2026, revealing a slight decline in the groupās fashion and leather goods sales.
But among all these announcements, the most interesting news came from the retail sector, and weāre not just talking about luxury. Zara, which is already enjoying a successful two-year partnership with John Galliano, has launched an ongoing project with Vans to bring the brandās most iconic styles into its stores. Itās a smart move for both brands, which can now boost sales: Zara by giving consumers the opportunity to put together a full look in-store, and Vans through the visibility provided by the Spanish brandās extremely busy retail spaces. Across the Atlantic, meanwhile, The Row appears to have started expanding its online and in-store offering with vintage clothing in collaboration with boutique Desert Vintage, but some Yohji Yamamoto garments have sparked quite a bit of criticism online.
Between announcements, discoveries, and controversies, the nss editorial team has certainly had plenty to keep them busy over the past few days. All thatās left is to enjoy the weekend and hope that next week wonāt be quite as chaotic.
